My background unites Conflict Resolution and Psychology.  I studied at the University of Ottawa as an undergraduate and later pursued graduate work at Carleton University.  I have worked as a university lecturer, research intern, school counsellor, restorative justice trainer, and a director of conflict services in both Canada and in Bermuda.  Additionally, as the founder of Collaborative Strategies, Ltd, (Bermuda, 2002) my company was the first to provide comprehensive conflict resolution intervention and education programs in Bermuda. Now, based on Salt Spring Island, B.C., I specialize in helping individuals, organizations and communities move forward from hurt, anger, frustration and chaos in their lives and workplaces, to a place of harmony, growth and satisfaction.  I provide conflict analysis and process design services.  My mediation work includes government, environmental, commercial, municipal affairs, child protection, organizational and family work (including relationship/ partnership, divorce, co-parenting, trust and estate, teen and seniors issues). My expertise encompasses conflict resolution system design, workplace assessments and group interventions, as well as training, facilitation and mediation. I am also particularly drawn to coaching work, which allows me to work more deeply with organizations and individuals. Frequently, I am a workshop facilitator or speaker on topics related to conflict, communication, change, positive psychology, personal development, successful careers and effective families. My services are tailor made to meet a client’s expectations and goals.  Through dialogue, each individual, workplace or community will be assisted in articulating areas of difficulty, stress, and conflict.  Specific goals for conflict resolution and for “making things right”, will be identified and a plan for change and restoring health will be implemented.  Services under the coaching domain concentrate on helping clients work with emotions, improve relationships and design programs for personal success and career effectiveness.  Various modalities such as assessments, role-plays, equine psychotherapy, “retreat-based” sessions and nature inspired sessions will be promoted. My skill set is informed by my own training in psychology, conflict resolution, human resources/ workplace development, family relations, human rights, community justice, and aware/aspiring living.  I bring a passion for parenting, for living closely with nature and for kindness. I believe in conflict transformation; it’s more than settlement, and more than resolution.  Transformation focuses on healing, reparation, making change and moving forward.  This is the orientation I bring to the work I do and to the people I meet.
